Broadway Kina

Located within the super modern Centar Kaptol, the Movieplex (formerly Broadway Kina) cinema offers USA-style multiplex experience. 1200 seats spread between 5 screens and all the ice-cream and popcorn you can shake a stick at are helping put paid to the memories of drab cinemas with rigid-backed wooden chairs and out-of-date films. With all the latest in Hollywood cinema, it'll be like being back at home.

Broadway has changed owners and is called Movieplex now. Still shows the same kind of movies. As for the "old cinemas in Zagreb" there are two that don't show Blockbuster Hollywood style: Kino Europa (Cinema Europe- www.kinoeuropa.hr)is run by people from Zagreb Film Festival who organise various film festivals and various film festivals are organised right here in Europa itself (e.g. Animafest). Regular programme includes films from Berlinale, Cannes, etc. The second cinema is Tuökanac cinema (www.filmski-programi.hr/english) shows art films from various countries. Entrance is often free of charge. For those who don't know: in Croatia, films are subtitled not dubbed (at least not yet).

true- like being back home. good quality cinema... but then again, the western style is not always what you're looking for :) any idea for some nice, old cinemas in zagreb?
