Zoo Zagreb

Set right in the heart of Maksimir park, and built on an island within one of the parkís several lakes, Zoo Zagreb provides welcome relief from the hustle and bustle of bar and cafÈ life (yes, we know it can be hard). If youíve got the kids in tow or you're just a wildlife lover, the Zoo is worth popping along to. About 5km from the Ban Jelacic Square and easily accessible via trams 11 and 13, (or 4 from the main rail station), the Zoo is small, around 28 acres and perhaps not enough to fill a whole day. However, if at Maksimir Park, the Zoo is cheap and worth a visit if animals are what float your boat.

It is a small zoo granted, but it is still a great way to spend half a day, always keeps the kids happy.
