Zagreb to Host Eurocon Sci-Fi Fest
By popular vote, the Croatian capital will host the 2012 edition of Eurocon, Europe's leading science fiction convention.
Eurocon began in Trieste, back in 1972, and guests of honour have included such luminaries as Anne McCaffrey, Andrzej Sapkowski and Iain Banks.
Zagreb has hosted the convention once before, in 1986, and was due to do so again in 1992, but war intervened.
For the time being, sci-fi fans have the 2011 edition to look forward, hosted next June in Stockholm.
