First Flights between Madrid and Croatia

Now you can enjoy a typical Croatian lunch of sarma(stuffed cabbage) and tuck into an authentic Spanish paella for supper, after Iberian Airlines launched its first direct flights between Madrid and Zagreb.

The maiden flight connecting the two cities left Zagreb this month and there will be two flights a week on Saturdays and Sundays until 20 September. In these tough times for Airlines, the new route bucks the recent trend of airlines axing routes between many destinations and noticeably Iberia confirmed that Zagreb would be the airline's only new destination this year. If the connection proves popular enough, Iberia may continue to operate it beyond September.
