Zagreb Heats Up

Those of you in Zagreb at the moment will most likely have noticed the soaring temperatures that have been plaguing the western Balkans since the end of June.

Daily temperatures are reaching the heights of 40+ degrees Celsius, prompting some to call the weather the hottest in 100 years! Even evenings provide no relief, with temperatures remaining between 20 - 30 degrees.

The heatwave has already begun to affect those in the area with two deaths already registered along with hundreds seeking medical help. Medical workers are suggesting to remain indoors during the day, wear light clothing, and drink plenty of water.

Meteorologists are saying the heatwave will continue for a couple more weeks, hopefully cooling down slightly after this weekend's expected rainfall.
