International Puppet Festival This festival is a breath of fresh air in our of technological distraction and computer-generated entertainment. First started in 1968 by an ill-fated Esperanto Club, this festival was one of many cultural events the city hoped would be conducted with Esperanto as the only language. According to the website, however "very soon puppet theatre proved to be stronger than Esperanto and puppets started speaking the national languages of their animators, and above all they spoke the universal language of puppets understandable by everyone." That's beautiful. Don't fret (are you fretting?) there's still an Esperanto section of the festival if you don't understand puppet language.
