Dance Festival

Zagreb will play host to a nine day long dance festival between the 1st and 10th. The festival will encompass various forms of dance and is a great way to introduce yourself to certain styles that you may be unfamiliar with. From modern to classical dancing there should be something there to suite everyone's taste.

Swan Lake

Tchaikovsky's masterpiece is given a new twist by world renowned British director and choreographer Derek Deane. Deane, who is no stranger to Zagreb, is regarded as one of the shining lights within the world of ballet. Not only is this a musical and a cultural delight that should not be missed, but also it represents a great opportunity to visit one of Zagreb's finest buildings, the Croatian National Theatre.

11th Cest is d'best Festival

During the six days of this colourful annual festival, the streets of Zagreb will become a maniacal open-air theatre filled with zany performers, unusual athletes, popular musicians and anyone who knows how to have a good time. Organised by the Association of Street Entertainers Cestagram, the festival's main concert stage will be set up in the Flower Square, a free climbing wall will tower over Jalecic Square, and more music will be heard at the pedestrian intersection of Bogoviceva and Gajeva streets. Make sure not to miss the traditional garbage man race, "the slowest bike ride" event, or the baby marathon.

Bebel Gilberto in Concert

Brazilian cutey and bossa nova star, Bebel Gilberto will play her unique, catchy-but-smooth blend of bossa nova and electronica in Zagreb in support of her recently released album, Memento (2007). Supported by Forro in the Dark (see below), this should be a hot ticket for anyone who wants to have a great time. Show starts at 21:00; tickets are 150kn in advance or 180kn day of the show.

Supplementing traditional forro instrumentation with electric guitars, an array of flutes, modern percussion and other contemporary instruments, along with the help of David Byrne, Bebel Gilberto and Miho Hatori, Forro in the Dark capture the immediate, pleasure-craving core of forro for modern audiences to relieve their stress on the dance floor...

Pearl Jam & Linkin Park

Pearl Jam and Linkin Park rock Zagreb, as a fan you cannot miss it. Listen to some Croatian music from ZG+ulaznica as a start. The tickets cost 129,82 Euro and the concert starts at 01:00.

Croatian Summer Salsa Festival

For the third time, the city of Rovinj is becoming the European Salsa Centre. Eurokaz Festival

Now firmly established as an annual event, Eurokaz, an international theatre festival, appears, like a good bottle of wine, to be getting better with age.
