Mex Cantina

A quick look at the menu and decor at Mex Cantina tells you that you haven't stumbled in to your typical, less-than-authentic foreign take on Tex-Mex cuisine. Mex Cantina features all of the classic Tex-Mex offerings such as fajitas and enchiladas but also many other main courses, side dishes and starters you'd be hard pushed to find in most cantinas outside of Mexico and the Southern US states. The dedication to creating an authentic atmosphere is evident in the regular performances of Los Caballeros, Croatia's world-famous Mariachi group who play at Mex Cantina every Monday. Reservations are necessary, handlebar moustaches and sombreros probably aren't.

"I havent tasted mexican food in a very long TIME!. When I came here I ordered the tacos immediatley and boy was it DELICIOUS!. I go here all the time now and just order that "taco de pollo". It's my favorite"

"I agree the food is decent, but nothing special. but then again, if you've lived in zagreb and haven't tasted anything even remotely mexican for ages, you'll appreciate the effort!!"

"We own a condo in Mexico and spend a lot of time there, so I have a different standard than some I am sure. My wife and I ate there last year and we're going back to Zagreb in a few weeks. Of all the places to eat in Zagreb, I would not put this place high on the list. The food is "OK" but for anyone used to real Mexican food, it's pretty much mediocre Tex-Mex, nothing to write home about."
