One of Zagreb and indeed Croatia's most popular and successful clubs, Aquarius is not to be missed for the devoted clubber in Zagreb. Opened in 1992, Aquarius was among the first Croatian clubs visited by internationally-renowned DJs and it continues to be their first port of call while in Zagreb. Croatia's most famous and successful acid jazz and breakbeat night, Kontrapunkt runs on Sunday and should not be missed if you've time, whereas Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights are dominated, by R'n'B, Hip Hop and mainstream dance. Set out on Lake Jarun, 4km from downtown Zagreb, a taxi or tram ride will be necessary but hey, it all adds to the clubbing adventure and enough young people in Zagreb go regularly for you to know it's surely worthwhile.
