Whether it's after a couple of days already spent in the city or as a prelude to a few days sightseeing, a trip to the museum will most definitely fill any gaps and answer any questions not covered by your guidebook. From Zagreb's origins and beginnings all the way to post-communism and post-war adjustments, the Municipal Museum really is your one stop shop for all things Zagreb. If this doesn't seem like your thing and you've been dragged along, take solace in the fact you'll at least know who the guy was who had a square named after him where your favourite bar is. Be warned, the museum is closed Mondays, and Saturday and Sundays have limited opening hours.
